Only had one once - I'm usually catching the train to within 5 seconds of accuracy of it leaving the station - but it was very nice and he gave me a free Penguin bar.
Don't know, but it's got to be better than the big fat nothing at St Johns.
Actually there's probably a great market opportunity at St Johns station - there's literally nothing there in terms of retail outlets by the station, however I guess the trains are so infrequent that in the end you wouldn't make enough money
So HH, is that a great opportunity, or a rubbish one then? ;)
matchbox is alright - always very friendly and free penguins are a huge bonus, but coffee wise I havent been too impressed, prefer a broca.
Nice coffee, friendly guys and they are good with the whole 'my train's coming in 30 seconds' thing (as you'd expect!)
Matchbox is great. V good coffee and free chocolate digestive bar!
I want to like Broca a lot too, but not keen on the coffee or pastries
Excellent coffee!
even an enterprising student with a coffee urn would get a pound out of me in the morning at st. johns. They'd only need to do two hours trade a day, peak time. throw in a table of newspapers - even better!
My missus swears by Matchbox, she loves the place, won't go anywhere else for a coffee in Brockers.
Yeah, Nick, slightly crap market analysis there re St John's station... Just ignore me, I'm just thinking aloud...
IT'S ON THE WRONG PLATFORM!!!!!
This place is cute looking, apt name. I've not used it yet, I tend to use Broca. I'd probably be more inclined to use it if it was on the other platform, but there's something about station kiosks in general that puts me off...
Oh I would put the guys kids through school if it was on the London Bridge side. I'm betting it was the prevalence of health and safety lentil-eaters rather than market research that had it situated on the West Croydon side!
I suspect the real reason for its location is that getting it over the bridge and onto the other platform would pose a problem. Not aware of any road access to platform 1 via the "dark side".
The coffee at the Matchbox rocks. It really is the best in Brockley.
Hey, I have only recently started using Matchbox for my morning coffee fix! I have to say the coffee is impressive! Has anyone tried the Fairtrade Flapjacks? TASTY... I think I need to visit them more often...
