St Peter's Summer Fayre
St Peter's Church on Wickham Road will host its Summer Fayre on June 28th, 1-4pm.
The organisers are promising such wholesome diversions as a coconut shy, face painting, cream teas, a bring-and-buy sale and a raffle plus the obligatory "much more".
The church and its grounds are gorgeous and the team at St Peter's were responsible for the beautiful lanterns that brought so much colour to the Christmas market, so it's likely to be a lovely day.
Call 020 8469 0013 for more details about hiring a table for the sale.

I think that's the same weekend as Open Studios. We'll be able to buy little pots of home made jam from the church sale and expensive artwork as well
It is the same weekend - which is actually really nice as it will a) provide more footfall to St Peter's and b)give variety to the Studios event.
BTW - is it just me, or does anyone else miss the bells at St Peter's ringing on the hour. They stopped a few months ago - and I really enjoyed it. I know some may complain - but you got used to it even at night - and it was a great way of knowing it was time to turn in whilst reading a book in bed a tnight.
I had noticed that they'd stopped. Frankly it got on my nerves at times, but they had a charm.
TJ - You know I have been thinking exactly the same! I kept meaning to ask at the church why they stopped the ringing. The clock is still telling the correct time. I suppose someone must've complained, but they were ringing for a good few months before they stopped, I would have thought if there had been a problem they would have stopped sooner. I loved sitting out in the garden last summer and hearing the sound of the chimes wafting through the trees.
They still ring on a Sunday just before their service starts at 10:30 am. A rural sound I love hearing in the centre of London.
Yea - Open Studio season just round the corner. Already called friends to keep the date and they be heading Brockley way to enjoyed the art and warm hospitality.
They've always rung for the service on a Sunday, but it was nice to hear them on the hour as well....
Funny how there have been no flyers about open studios but the website has been updated now, v much looking forward to it
Well apparently I can look forward to seeing you all round my flat during Open Studios!. Thought I'd have a quick look at the map, only to discover my address on there as my land lady is exhibiting! That was a bit of a shock....
I like milk with my tea Ali :P
Lol
Still I suppose it means I can be nosey in her half of the house....
seeing the landladies house...priceless it reminds me of a certain Spaced episode I love...
Oh dear, I've just seen Arnold Dobbs' name again. Every time this happens Pink Floyd take up residence in my head for hours (Arnold Layne).
