Their name sounds like a summer party gathering of my ex-boyfriends ...
Quite good I thought.
The jerk chicken is more of a barbeque flavour rather than jerk, but nice anyway.
I prefer Nu Spice, but that is not open on a Sunday and so this place sometimes gets a visit when I am at a loose end...
It's always a good place to pop into to buy cakes - tastier and much better value than the co-op!
nice cakes, juice; agree about the jerk chicken flavour, but I like it.
very nice on my way now
went to this jerk garden...spent £7.60 on oxo tail.
and it was just a joke..the woman that owns this shop needs to think what it is she is doing.
the food looks out of date just a waste of time..
That is not how it done...I would not go back to this shop if she was giving it a away .....sorry .....
Anything more specific than "a joke" and "out of date" anon?
Each to his own I guess but did Anonymous actually taste the food? I'm experiences of the food at Jerk Garden have been great every time. The jerk pork in particular, I've never tasted anything so good. Tender, well seasoned pork with just the right amour of sauce. Absolutely amazing. I live in east London but whenever I'm in the area I always have to pass through.
Too expensive. But this is a common theme with some Jamaican takeaways which is why I assume they are frequented less. There is another Jamaican less than 2 miles away which has the same quality food pretty much (meat is smoked too)where you can get a standard meal for less than £4 (and at special times even less)which has a lot of traffic. If they lowered their prices I can't help but think they would have a much higher turnover and be able to compete more with other takeaway options incl Chinese etc. Having said that the service here is very good. The food is good also but not consistently good. Usually I get the jerk dishes; sometimes it's great other times the meat is full of too many fatty pieces, it's slightly burnt as if it's been barbecued twice and it doesn't seem "fresh". When it's good it's really good. Having said that the prices seem to have gone up even more and £7.50 is too much for me to indulge in large meal(uh recession), well ever again really - that's grocery shopping money!
I do not agree jerk gardens prices are the same as any other carribean take away and to be honest it seem to me that people pay a lot for Chinese and Indian however feel that carribean should be the same price as a kebab ??? I moved into brockley 2 months ago and I am hooked. The jerk chicken is amazing the sauce is to die for it is the best carribean food I've ever tasted the customer service is great and the decor is very good it looks like a posh cafe the owner has got it right keep doing what you do!
