The Night of the Hunter at The Brockley Jack

The new film club at the Brockley Jack Theatre has got off to a great start, with an eclectic, but not too self-conscious choice of films.

Gregor Murbach, who got the club up and running writes:

Our next film, The Night of the Hunter, will be shown on Monday 13 October at 7.30PM (instead of Sunday 5 October, as announced previously). To guarantee your tickets, please call our box office on 020 8699 6685.

Or, people can become members. The membership scheme offers a number of advantages: a free ticket, discounted tickets and a say in the film selection. But you will also support the only regular cinema venue in Lewisham! The membership form can be downloaded directly from our website.

night of the hunter is a brilliant film - and a real watch behind the hands one...(for me anyway, but I'm a bit of a wuss).

Great news. I'll definitely start going once I get back from abroad.

I have meant to go to both films so far and not got myself organised - and now this one is on the night of my birthday. Membership doesn't sound a bad option though

Dear all, Gregor here from the Film Club. The bad news is that we had to change the date of the screening again (it's now on the Monday 20 October at 7.30pm) because of a collapsed ceiling at the Brockley Jack, but the good news is that Richard might be able to come along this time! And do check our website (www.brockleyjack.co.uk) in the coming days for the full winter programme.

The film club is new this year. We've seen a couple of things there. It runs on Monday nights once a month. You can see what's coming up by googling for Brockley Jack film club or following the links on this website. There's only room for 20 or 30 punters but the screen is a good size and you can take a drink in with you from the bar next door. Recommended.

I just wish the screenings weren't Mondays as it's not a good night for us. But maybe it suits the Jack best.
