International cranberry shortage hits south-east London
South-east London appears to be wholly lacking in cranberries (or at least the supermarketed parts of it are). Does anyone have any idea where they can be procured, within the next 24 hours? Friendly local cranberry dealers, now is the time to speak up ...

Holland & Barrett?
Cystisis?
Is this the start of BrockleyTwitter?
Am I the only one at work? Well, I say 'at work' I actually mean chating with my work buddies and trying to decide which pub to pop too when we slip away at mid day. Also plowing my through a huge tub of 'Celebrations', lots of mini Bounty and Milky Ways left over.
(no cranberry Sauce I'm afraid)
Holland & Barratt only sell dried cranberries, don't they?
Monkeyboy, today I'm at work - in my kitchen! Lots of prep to do. Meanwhile my crack teams of foodies are out scouring the city for cranberries ... fingers crossed!
Aren't there any pots of artisan cranberry reserve, maid with free range cranberries, £15 a jar, available locally?
Failing that, Costcutter?
Or Dukes
I'm afraid I got mine in M&S in Bromley on Saturday, which is no help to you now. Good luck!
Have you tried the Broca market? I think they had some fresh cranberries last time I looked. You could then make your own!
CRANBERRIES??? WhateverhappenedtogoodtraditionalBritishsauces etc..
Buy a pot of the stuff. Concentrate your energies on some lovely bread sauce (with cream) and brandy butter for the pudding (lots of sugar so that it absorbs and absorbs the brandy like there's no tomorrow).
Yes, I'm at work - but all on my tod, no pub afterwards. The wretched post office assumed I would not be and rather than delivering a package brought out a pre-written up "Sorry you were out" card - and not only that, it had the wrong phone number on it for arranging another delivery time (Monday, when my colleague is in, fleeing the invasion of her house by hoards of in-laws).
Success! The Broca didn't have any at the weekend, but today they do! Fantastic. Just proves shopping locally beats the supermarket!
Tamsin - definitely doing the brandy butter, but not sure about bread sauce. I'm not catering for anyone who's particularly keen on it, and it could just be unnecessary additional complexity on top of everything else ...
How were the cranberries?
Great thanks - got tons of cranberry sauce left over! And turkey - am planning a big turkey curry for the weekend!
Didn't do bread sauce in the end.
How was yours Tamsin?
Actually I've ducked out of turkey this year. I never have it until at least the weekend after Christmas when we can have friends over and this time I was stuck down with the lurgy on boxing day and so there was no way we would get the house sorted (the final stages of getting rooms back to normal after some major works) by Tuesday when I had planned our Christmas dinner. I therefore asked the butcher to see if he could sell normally the turkey he was saving for me and our friends will just have to make do with tea and Christmas cake in the one room we have got civilised.
Aw sorry to hear you were ill - I had a nasty cold-thing just before Christmas, seems like absolutely everyone has had something in the last couple of weeks!
Thanks, but it wasn't too bad so far as I was concerned.
However, I heard a news snippet on the radio just before Christmas about a 75% increase in flu - part of which was my husband who, poor chap, has still not shaken it off.
