We recently had three pictures beautifully framed here. Thus it gets a Brockley Central thumbs-up.

Didn't he think it strange you wanted to have framed a set of yellow doggy stencils?
don't go today - they are big milwall fans & shall be in mourning . . .
Missed the news - what happened to Millwall?
Alternative picture framers (if one is free on Thursdays and with transport) are the people who take a regular stall in the Bromley Thursday market (also wonderful fabric stalls there). I've been using them for years and they were notably cheaper than the shop in Bromley that also does framing - fewer overheads. They take the picture(s) one week, discuss with you what you want done looking at a range of samples of frames and mounts, and bring it/them back for collection the following week. Excellent advice always - one time when I did not follow it I later thought better of it and regretted my decision.
why would one go to Bromley for that?
Because it's there?
Because I worked there (and still work halfway there in Catford) and because it is well worth while if you also want wools, haberdashery or fabric.
David Mitchell's character in Peep Show lives in Croydon. COINCIDENCE?!
back to the picture framing - agree wholeheartedly with those in favour of loampit vale. Great value, very quick. We've had 4 or 5 pics done there, including prints bought on honeymoon of great sentimental value (tissues at the ready), and were really pleased with the end result.
And local is good - apologies for the Bromley diversion.
Croydon is a fictional place
I agree it's a bit of a nightmare...
Croydon needs a face lift.
Croydon is having a facelift, it's called Lewisham
Lewisham will be full of tower blocks like Croydon but without the useful department stores.
or the chic hairstyles and supermodels
To get back to the point, I can also vouch for David Mitchell. I have been getting pictures framed there for years and he offers excellent value for money. In fact, I'm not sure how he does it for the prices he quotes. The range of frames isn't extensive (or rather, it's quite big but 80% of it is nasty) but too much choice can be a bad thing.
Do you know when David Mitchell is open? I've lugged my pictures there at 3.30pm on a weekday and telephoned mid-morning with no luck... Thanks
He is definitely closed one day a week - but off the top of my head, I can't remember which day. I think it's Wednesday. Otherwise, I've always found him open at normal hours. Also on Saturdays.
I thought it was Wednesday and Sunday they were shut.
Open 9am-5pm. Shut on Wed and Sun.
agree! They are excellent. Been using them for years.
Thanks! Must have gone round and called on Wednesdays before.
Very reasonable prices and good workmanship.
I have had at least 10 artworks framed there from small size to 1 metre square.
Always happy with the result.
