Yes To Europe? got to admire their ambition.
A bigger outrage that even more people voted for the Christian party than BNP - where the hell did that come from?
Those billboards were clearly good value.
"I'm a Christian and I've got a voice, I'll vote for 'em!"
Christ, even the Mung Bean party made it to 2nd place. Truly a sad day for politics.
Thanks for this, Kate, I was wondering if these figures were available. 31% voted. 69% therefore didn't. Good grief.
Har...!! he said Mung Bean... snicker....
I voted Christian, ironically obviously.
Thank God for the Christian Party and their determination to keep the BNP out.
Homer: Well, there's not a bear in sight. The Bear Patrol is sure doing its job.
Lisa: That's specious reasoning, Dad.
Homer: Thank you, sweetie.
Lisa: Dad, what if I were to tell you that this rock keeps away tigers.
Homer: Uh-huh, and how does it work?
Lisa: It doesn't work. It's just a stupid rock.
Homer: I see.
Lisa: But you don't see any tigers around, do you?
Homer: Lisa, I'd like to buy your rock
andrew milton beat you...
No probs Tressiliana, I've been looking for these figures since Sunday!
How did that christian party billboard get past the advertising standards agency?
Telling fibs when Moses told you not to is a bit wrong I think. Makes that walk up the hill he did a bit pointless.
So who actually got seats in the impossible to understand voting sytem?
Seats are allocated London-wide, not by council.
The London results are on the BBC news website, the basic story is that there's been no change on the previous election.
Am sat in a half empty office feeling smug for choosing to live South of the River.
Got train into Charing Cross walked to my office in 15 mins arriving at the normal time.
All the north Londoners only just begining to drift in with tales of nightmare journeys.
Tee Hee....
So another normal day then TM?
Some useful percentages and context:
Labour - 26.26% (DOWN 6.43%)
Green - 17.79% (UP 5.18%)
Conservative - 15.91% (DOWN 0.37%)
Lib Dem - 13.57% (DOWN 1.93%)
UKIP - 8.88% (DOWN 1.99%)
BNP - 3.93% (UP 0.28%)
Interesting stuff, thanks A.
So the BNP vote remained more or less static, and the Greens took the lion's share of the ex-Labour vote.
...and in doing so, inserted an enormous carrot up the Lewisham electorate. :-|
I've heard some Labour people expressing some mild satisfaction that their vote held up a bit better here than nationally. But looking at that 6+% drop, it's a bit like being pleased that it was only a baby grand that fell on them, not the bigger version.
Which reminds me;
Why are women like pianos?
When they're not upright they're grand..........
Whoops - forgot the customary
Fnarrr Fnarrr!
..and the extra 'r' in Finbarr.
Anyway, moving on...
Can we have a new reminder about the Mantle Road flowerbeds tomorrow pls!!! Its going ahead - and there are MANY flowers to be planted.
To tempt people, rumour has it that the Broca food market will be supplying muffins!!!
When are you there catman so that I can avoid you?
Drove past those flowerbeds today, glanced at a strapping lassie with dirty hands manhandling some plants, several other men in green overalls watching her...
