well, trying to be more supportive of Nick, I had hesitated to say anything, but, I have to admit, I'm struggling to see how this is any better or worse than any other graffiti that might be scattered around the place.
I'm also wondering whatever happened to the Brockley Cross parking-crusade.
And feedback on the Brockley Open studios, of which I went to precisely none - not for any bad reason, but times-pressing-door was shut this weekend and I didn't have the means to open it.
People might like to know that the 'artist' who produced the mural by the station is having an exhibition at the Tank gallery at the moment, so you can see a greater sample of his work.

I'm trying and failing to see what's excellent about it. Sorry.
that's crap.
Where's banksy when you need him?
Id like to see what you thinks bad then
Perhaps it's all about context then you misery guts, but when you're walking through a burned-out waste land, it's a welcome splash of colour.

Re: Parking crusade, I am still waiting for the Council's promised response - it is taking longer than they initially thought it would.
The council are probably arranging all the appropriate words in a order so as to say exactly nothing.
An art not to be underestimated.
If we want to be optimistic, we could say that they are investigating what can be done before responding, in order to give a meaningful answer.
We shall see. Hopefully very soon.
surprised to see you condoning criminal activity.
if the wallwere not owned by the painter, he/she should not have been painting on it.
easy really
in fact, even if it were owned by the pianter he/she would have been restricted in terms of what could be painted!
I don't actually like the piece either but having read Anon's post above I say more power to the graffiti crews!
I don't like it either (although at least it is a complete 'piece' and not just mindless tagging).
I think the stuff they've uncovered at Nunhead Station is really good too...I took a snap of it for my own little bloglett:
Nunhead Grafito
(Actually I'm not sure about the one Nick snapped - perhaps the picture needs more context to demonstrate it's excellence!)
LOL at criminal activity.
ooo... the baaad graffiti artists. They should be locked up!
(well, in fairness the one who painted that should be)
much better example that Oli put up.
I much prefer this to the "Kindness of Strangers" artwork by the station.

I thought it was him that did the Ashby Mural.
