Is this what victory smells like?
The wall on the corner of Wickham Rd and Cranfield Rd has finally been completed. After an 18-month saga that we have to admit involved some shameless whining by certain parts of BC, the council's PFI contractor has completed the works - and very nice it looks too...

All that remains is to re-turf the garden that lies within the walls, and replace the Wickham Rd street sign, and then BC's brick-related joy shall be complete.
Well done, brickies. Not so well done, council contract commissioners. But in this golden glow of success, BC isn't in the mood to quibble. What's the odd PFI contract between friends?

Have you ever seen anything so beautiful?
Pretty Quick job for Lewisham Council
Hey, you nicked my Apocalypse Now allusion!
Nick, any idea which architect did the new flats next to Queens Road station in Peckham? They stand beside some classic Georgian houses and don't look halff bad for what they are.
Indeed, Richard, it is a wonder is it not?
Never let it be said that BC doesn't achieve anything concrete in the area. Or in this case, something definitely not concrete but still a solid result.
Congratulations to all at BC, it's indeed a win.
And a very good opportunity to discuss the ludicrous effect of PFI contracts as they are now with a practical example.
Remember what happened when Joshua fought the battle of Jericho.
Now we just need to get the PFI contractors to replace the wooden fences they erected in Tyrwit Road as a cost saver (when they should have rebuilt the walls).
TJ - where's that? Sounds like Wall II. The Return....
I can smell my next project coming on ... TJ, drop me an email and let's get started ...!
Will do when I get a moment this week

I have not spotted any missing walls but then I don't walk the whole length of Tyrwhitt regularly.
Whereabouts are they?
they have popped up all along the street when the properties were refurbed. Much smaller than the Wickham walls - but Broc Soc noticed that they had gone up instead of brick walls, but not been able to move anything on..Often the original wall had been missing for a while
