Really really nice food! And they give you a beer while you are waiting for your take away. Only minor gripes are it takes at least 40 minutes for take away food as its all freshly cooked, which can be a little long. Other minor gripe is there can be a lot of oil sitting on top of your main course when you get it home. But i guess all Indian take aways use quite a bit of oil. Worth a try though as its got lovely food!

I've eaten in quite a few times and it's pretty good. Not as good as Bhabur obviously but it is a completely different proposition.

A Ladywell institution run by Khaleda and Habib! They're from Bangladesh, though I think the food is more broadly South Asian rather than Bangladeshi per se, but correct me if I'm wrong on that. Good value food with friendly service. Decor used to be rather dingy then they invested in the wall paintings a few years back that made it much better. My only gripe - they've had the same background music on loop for at least the past 8 years - I don't know how it doesn't drive them mad!

It's very nice. Good food and friendly people.

I could be wrong but I think the majority of "indian" restaurants in this country are actually run by Bangladeshis.

you nailed it dude..

Just as the majority of low end "Japanese" restaurants, like Sapporo in Catford, are actually run by Chinese people.

Moreover, most come from one area in Bangladesh, Sylhet.

Where, aparently there are shops called Tescos and London Fried Chicken.

Now there is a cultural exchange for you.

My wonderful chef mate Al owns an Indian restaurant in Brighton and not only did he win Curry of the Year but also he is English. His 2 speciality sous chefs are from southern India. Wonderful guys! www.thechillipicklebistro.co.uk and http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/7751443.stm. Rudely I have never thought of trying out the Indian food from Ladywell… I will now.

I've eaten in there a couple of times. A good, reliable local curry house. Recommended.

The Cinnamon on Upper Brockley road near to Lewisham way is also very good.

They do a very fine Goan fish curry.

I personally think that Cinnamon does the best curry in the area - the aloa bora is incredible. My wife loves Bhabur and thinks it is amazing for veggy's but I think their chicken is nowhere near as good as Cinnamon's.

They do one of the best currys in London!

I've tried Cinnamon a couple of times and found their curries to be lacking in depth of flavour as are the ones from the Babur Takeaway (and I used to be a real fan). I prefer the Royal Tandoori on Brockley Road these days.

Really good for takeaways - & always with a complimentary drink.

I'm sorry but the Ladywell Tandoori has been horrible for years. We went there when we first moved to Ladywell some 12 years ago and the food was rank. Went there again recently to discover that the food was still rank.

Only redemming feature is that it has a very pleasant feel about the place. Food is truly nasty

I think that is quite harsh, I think the place is great. The people that run the place are very friendly and make you feel comfortable. I think the food is very nice and also good value for money as Babur charges almost £5 more for the same order!

Celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary, at the Ladywell Tandoori last night, we had a very good meal as usual!
