The Brockley World Food Festival, July 17th
The Brockley World Food Festival aims to celebrate the cultural diversity of Brockley through food. As well as being delicious in its own right, it's also a clever way of encouraging more people to get involved in the local Assembly, which is a really vital part of local political life.
As well as different dishes from around the world, there will be music, dance and children's games. Be there from 11am - 3pm.

SE8 is Deptford isnt it? Couldnt they have used Hilly Fields or somewhere actually in Brockley?
Friendly Gardens is in Brockley Ward, Hilly Fields isn't.

Is that the park on Friendly St where virtually everyone has a "status" dog? I'll try it...
I presume it is the top park behind tescos which is relatively dog free.

The top bit with the playground in is actually quite a nice little park. It's the lower bit that smells of dog poo.
There's an Over 55s event in Friendly Gardens this Saturday - 12 to 5, partially funded by the Brockley Ward Assembly. Called Senior Moments and sounds quite fun - Vietmanese Fan Dancing etc. Sounds like the gardens are set to improvetheir image and live up to their name.
Lor' what finely tuned nostrils anon 20:11. Lets hope for a fresh westerly on the day, or a chili haze filling the air. Vietnamese fan dancing sounds just the ticket, but I'm outside the age range (just).
There's dogging up on those fields, but there aint no dogs.

I don't see what's wrong with the location. No worse than Hilly Fields but obviously a lot smaller.
That's the problem, the size of Hilly fields allows any dog mess stench to disperse.

No 'fraid not. The rough kids might use it and keep our lot away.
With any luck it wont be quite so hot as last week - should be fun.
Just loaned them a load of bunting which is something that always lifts the spirits.
