Livingstone secures Labour nomination for Mayor

Ken Livingstone will be the official Labour candidate for London Mayor, having beaten Oona King for the nomination. His win sets up another face-off with Boris, who has also declared he will stand again.

The world waits with baited breath to see who the LibDems will put forward.

I'm not sure I can take another two years of Boris v Ken.

(Not that Boris v Oona would have been any better, far from it...)

Will Sian be Green candidate again?

Ugh, can't believe there's a whole 2 years to go for this.

Still enjoying Boris' tenure.

Duwaine Brooks is seeking nomination for the Lib Dems.

@Anon - genuine question, specifically what about Boris' time in office do you like?

Oona's lovely but it was never a contest.

I like Boris's general leadership and hand at the tiller. No token gestures to offer as examples, but I don't think being a leader is always about that.

Sadly, I don't think Sian Berry's going to run for the Greens again - she's not currently a member of the party.

The green fad's over now, fortunately.

Yep, glad that resource challenges, energy security and global warming are finally over, banished to hang out with the Crazy Frog and the Macarena.

Nowadays it's all about Louie Spence, Angry Birds and The Wanted.

What leadership? What's been the boris big idea or themes? Doing nothing i not a leadership style We have the stupid bus and the booze ban on the tube....now some could accuse those of being tokenistic.

I'd like to support someone other than ken but oona was weak.

I'm approaching the age when the next PM may be younger than me. This is a bad thing

I hate things like that. I now have colleagues who were born in years like 1985... Godammit I can actually remember 1985! I don't want people to have just been born in years I can actually clearly remember!

I went to primary, junior and high school with Louie Spence (Before he cleared off to stage school) - he was in the same year.

Hope you don't mind, as a BC regular contributor, if I use the anon button this time.

Is that because you don't want people to know what school you went to or you don't want people to know you know Louie Spence?

If you're going to be anonymous you can at least tell us what he was like?

Greens aren't selecting our mayoral candidate until the Spring, but my money (if I had any!) would be on sitting London Assembly member Jenny Jones.

Here's Duwayne Brooks campaign Facebook page for the Lib Dem nomination to take on the two behemoths.

Nice idea to have someone from Lewisham (and south Lewisham at that)... Would we get the Thames Crossing?
