Stag and Bow, Forest Hill
Reader Neil alerted us to the opening of a new shop, Stag and Bow in Forest Hill. The independent retailer says of itself:
Stag & Bow is an emporium like no other. We are a celebration of creativity, originality and history. Whether you are in search of an original piece of furniture, a handcrafted item of jewellery, a unique item of clothing or are looking to develop a skill in one of our creative workshops, we invite you to inspire or be inspired.
If you've been since its opening, please tell us what it's like.
A similarly art-inspired retailer has been threatening to open in Brockley for a while, although we've not heard anything from them recently. We will see if there's any update...

Sounds a bit like a Hunting shop.
Sounds more like "I saw you coming" from Harry and Paul.
Actually, I mentioned it here ;)
I popped in last weekend, it's run by a really nice couple and the place looks great. It's definitely more shop than 'craft salon' (TM) for now, but they plan to do workshops once they've found their feet.
I though it a very inspiring shop - not what I had expected - with some really curious items for sale that are thoughtfully displayed. Yes the lady working there said about workshops next year - good to hear.
According to the interview in Lewisham Life, it's run by the daughter of local actor Timothy Spall.
we are so lucky to have Stag & Bow on our doorsteps! The workshops are up and running including my beginners crochet workshop and experimental crochet workshop (28th June 6.30pm-8.30pm). Still a few places left! email: info@stagandbow.com or call 0208 2914992 to find out about workshops!
