The Wickham Arms Karaoke Competition

The Wickham Arms is staging Brockley's biggest-ever Karaoke competition - an eight week epic with £1,000 of prize money at stake.

It starts on Friday, March 4th at 8pm and is part of a re-energised music programme that includes live acts every Saturday night.

At one point it looked like the Wickham might be sold, but the landlord is instead focusing on putting the pub at the heart of the community.

At the heart of the community! Why then the karaoke! It's torture! 8 weeks of it!! Give me Camp Delta any day.

Do we know who is doing the judging?

Why is the Wickham Over 21's only?

I think the over 21's was only done for when it used to get packed on Karaoke night, not anymore though.

I think it can be safely said that other areas have their singers and here in Brockley we have our soul singers

Several of them have belted a few out in the Wickam over the years to local aclaim.

So why should this considerable body of talent not find a fair wind to give voice that Brockley will not hide its talents under a bushel.

Puts the Talbot's £50 Quiz into a cocked hat.

It would if they were competing with each other but they aren't.

Different night, different clientel I'd say.

Singing quizzers will now prove me wrong.

We need practice nights.

Definitely different clientele,that's for sure.

So... does it still look like it won't be sold?

Because this makes it look like it will be sold!

(Although, perhaps this listing pre-dates the decision not to sell - any idea Nick..?)

I'm told that it has been withdrawn from the market - I guess this is out of date!

It has been taken off the market, and now has accommodation upstairs from £15 a night.
