The Ginger Line
The Evening Standard has marked the ELL extension to Highbury and Islington with an article about the glories to be found along its route. It claims it's known as 'the ginger line', although we don't believe anyone has ever called it that, other than the mobile supper club of the same name operating along the ELL's route.
Anyway, well done to the Broca, Degustation and Hilly Fields which get a nice mention in its wrap up of Brockley.

Ginger! all the other trains will bully it.
i've heard it called the hipster highway... cringe
I shall continue to call it the Overground......................
because that is its name.
Ginger minger.
I like.
Once again the only thing highlighted are our ethical bean shops.
Ginger gags a bit dull tbh, oh and also offensive
wasn't it someone on here who first gave it that monika?
It seems that this is a piece of marketing by the pop-up restaurant creators "Gingerline" - leaning quite heavily (online) with the concept OF REBRANDING THE LINE.
the reference to the wibbly wobbly pub in greenland dock being a hipster hangout makes me laugh! unless the area has changed in recent years (which I doubt), it is as far away from hip as I could imagine!
I'm pretty sure the person who wrote the article did all their research via google. On the topic of rebranding the line I suggest the Southern Line.
If only they'd just used the Our Future's Orange series as a reference point, the article would have been a lot more credible ;)
I think the 'Ginger Line' is a title it should wear with pride, if indeed it is worthy of it!
Am showing my age, but that ES is clearly written by vacuous 20-somethings for vacuous 20-somethings. There's so much to hate about it!
Are you under 20 Tom? You'll understand in a few years.
Sorry no gingers.
No gingers except Ginger Cats...we love Ginger Cats...
