What's different about Southeastcentral.co.uk?

We've had a few questions about how the forum differs from Brockley Central. The answer is probably best illustrated with some examples of the kind of discussions that have taken place on Southeastcentral since its launch yesterday.

Over 110 people are now registered and threads include:

So it's working and allowing a much broader range of local topics to be covered, but a forum needs you to contribute, there are still far more readers of the forum than there are registered users. Please sign up, take part and spread the word.

But surely all this stuff can be diuscussed on BC. Or can new threads be introduced on the new forum?

Anyone can start any tread they want to on the forum. They can sell things, give things away, ask questions, organise groups, tell jokes, write a review. Anything as long as it's not offensive obviously. Go and have a look for yourself and start your own tread.

Southeastcentral is the new forum.

@privacy - OK. I don't know what you're worried about specifically, but you don't have to give away any personal data, only an email address, which of course can be an anon one anyway.

Looking for the right place to post up something about the NHS street theatre demo in Central Lewisham tomorrow. I thought there was a "politics" sub-group set up in the SE & London Forum. Has this been thought better of? (If you will forgive the tortured grammar.)

Where's Brockley Kate?

I'm sure Cameron & Clegg are quaking in their boots at the mere threat of street theatre.

Oh agreed - but if people stop and look they can be told what's happening and handed leaflets rather than - to borrow the phrase - sleep-walking into an American-style insurance and private provider driven health system.

They can then e-mail their MPs, lobby the House of Lords, sign on-line petitions and contact friends and relatives in marginal seats and Cameron and Clegg might have the Bill re-written from the bottom up rather than just tinkering with a tithe of it.
