Dawn chorus on Hilly Fields, May 19th
The Friends of Hilly Fields and the Lewisham Rivers and People Project present another guided walk to greet the dawn chorus in Hilly Fields.
Meet by the flag pole at the top of the park near the tennis courts at 5am on May 19th. Those who went last year didn't regret the early rise.

The nothing the BDS like better than an early rise.
That's good news. I haven't managed to find out if there is one in One Tree Hill this year and was going (almost equally early) somewhere else last Saturday when they went along the Ravensbourne from Bell Green.
It is always lovely. (Better without the aeroplanes - can anyone arrange another ash cloud? - but still worth doing.)
We're not quite sure how long the flagpole can be kept up for, so a prompt start at 5 AM is requested.
Even the BDS cant rise that early.
I imagine the BDS are quite knowledgable about small peckers.
Seriously though, the Lewisham Rivers and People Project events are excellent and well worth attending.
BDS sometime makes me chuckle... I think I watched too many Carry On films as a nipper....
Brilliant! If I read their comments with a Kenneth Williams voice in my mind they might be quite amusing rather than mildly irritating.
Has anyone a similar panacea for "mung"?
Stop mucking about.
Lovely this morning - so many thanks to Friends of Hilly Fields and the Lewisham Rivers and Peoples project. The full moon setting in a pale blue morning sky (just a few minutes before sunrise) over the stone circle on Hilly Fields was really special - and the chaffinch singing his little heart out on the top branch of one of the chestnut trees.
Another one starting from Sainsbury's at Bell Green and going up the river next Tuesday.
