The online home for all things Brockley (SE4), Deptford, Ladywell, Lewisham and New Cross
I understand the D&M have started their own diy "lift, shift & plant" burial concept. The lift and shift bit is going swimingly, the planting thing is meeting some opposition at the allotment. They are in talks with Conways to see if there is some synergy with their activities. Those holes need filling with something afterall.
Is it that big old Volve hearse? I'd noticed that and wondered about it. May be it's to conveniently whisk away victims of fatal accidents on the double roundabout of death....
Haha. This (along with the assorted GI joes and dolls in a jungle setting in the shop window opposite the Royal Albert) is why I love Brockley.
I believe that's the sole vehicle in the Mung Bean Elite's car sharing fleet.
Sort of thing I'd like for my funeral with Danse Macabre as performed by the Ukelele Orchestra of Great Britain for musical accompaniment.
Self-drive-hire gone wrong.
Talking of parking, I noticed that round the corner from me on Ashby Rd (between Manor and Wickham) there is a dedicated car hire/pool "Street Car" parking space... Has that been there for long? I hadn't noticed it before...
do you people really have to get up in EVERYBODIES business?
Only interested in the story behind an ostentatious comedy hearse parked semi-permanently in the middle of Brockley. Not asking the owner's inside leg measurement. If the owner wants to share the story, great. If not, it's a pleasant novelty.
Has it moved at all recently, and if not is it taxed.
It's taxed until the end of July 2011!
Ah,lets see if its still there then.
Brockley Big Brother is watching
Yeah because it's not like choosing to drive that is attention seeking at all.
There are usually some goths/neo-Victorians showing their vintage hearses at Nunhead Cemetery open day, one of them might know the story. I badly wanted the one where the gearstick knob was a skull with light-up red eyes. It's Saturday 21st May this year and always a good day out.
It comes to something when a man can't even drive a volvo hearse with a goggle-eyed skull as a mascot and 70s carpet in the back down the street without some curtain-twitcher wondering why and writing frivolous blog posts with headlines based on ridiculous comic characters and captions based on Cormac McCarthy novels.Welcome to Modern Britain, a surveillance state. Thank you very much Mr Tony B.Liar
You are Coney and I claim my £5
Is it connected to the white coffin on wheels visible from New Cross Station on the roof of a nearby garage?
Dunno, but that sounds like a blog post right there! Will try to get a pic.
Makes a change from going on about D & M's vans or CPZ.
"You are Coney and I claim my £5."Stop obsessing over me, it's embarassing me
It's ours, why you ask?
They talk about any vehicle that's parked for any length of time.
Hi, im the owner of that hearse. It has a history. Leave it alone.
