Brockley Market's Toby wants to leave nothing to chance for tomorrow's big day. He offers the following advice if you're planning to visit it tomorrow:
No Cash Machine on site, cash machines in the area, stall holders will not take cards.
The post code for the college = SE4 1UT.
Limited car parking on site, so please use alternative transport methods where possible.

There are no toilet facilities in the college carpark at present.
Most stall holders will have plastic bags, but recommend you bring your own more sturdy bag for shopping.

If only the public bogs to the front of the Lewisham College Tressillian Building were still open.
Then again they were shut due to a plethora of cottaging, drugs, violence and vandalism. Cost-cutting too probably.

What a brilliant location. I live up the hill, and the car park has always looked a bit desolate at the weekend, but the market really makes it.
In fact, it just transforms this place. Great stuff.

Market was brilliant. So good I went twice. Liked the little bit in the middle where you could have a sit down. Looks like there is alot of unused space in the carpark, so I guess it can just get bigger and bigger. Well done Toby. :)
Great to see it so busy, and doing so well. I didn't buy anything myself, as it's not the kind of thing I'd tend to buy - all very much expensive, organic produce rather than staples.
That said, I would have got some meatballs from the van if the queue hadn't been so long.
And for all the market isn't for me, I'm glad it seems to be doing well, both for the stallholders and the organisers.
@sam, nope not bargain basement but the prices for the the equvalent "best" range at supermarkets was better I'd say. you can't get such good toms at sainsburys, the ones they do have are more expensive. 6 free raange eggs for £1 is a competitive price, apparently laid yesterday (I did a little check online for prices)
In the future I'll prob combine it with deptford and the usual supermarket run. Very impressed though. The live bees were a nice touch.

Good market but thought the bacon sarnies were below par at 4 quid a pop and the honey was pricey at 5 quid a jar. Main grumble is the bacon sarnies though - could have done with some bacon in there rather than mostly rind - the Borough Market equivalent is in a different league.
I was pleasantly surprised by the prices - fish about 10% cheaper than Waitrose, loose salad leaves almost cheaper than tescos, fresh herbs cheaper than supermarkets but not as cheap as TFS. Hope it did well today.

Very promising start!
Very impressed with the range and quality available. The tomatoes look absolutely lush, as do the salad leaves. Great selection of fish. Wish the coffee and bacon-sarnie stalls had more people serving, the queues were epic! But presumably they weren't expecting it to be quite so busy. The cakes and bread stalls were sold out before we even got there! It was rammed.
£5? Stung by a bee etc....
Well, they are trading on a bit of novelty value of being from brockley bees so can't blame them for making a few bob off the back of that.
Always amused by olive stalls, I love olives but hardly local. I'm no "local produce" fundamentalist though, rather have quality over locality.
Bit of a Toby and Henrietta crowd with added brats, though. Well, it works for Borough Market I suppose.
I loved the market but maybe they should have better security. The man who kept insisting on pulling other peoples trousers down should have been locked up!!!
Went up there, very nice but didn't buy anything. Stopped in at the topchef cafe for a hearty breakfast... now that was a recommendation!
Bought meself a bag of nettles for £1.50. Not a clue what to do with them but couldn't resist the novelty.
You could have had the ones in my garden....
I'm sure it will do well, and I hope it does, but as a student it was just far too expensive for me.

Visited the Brockley Market today and very impressed with what was available. Bought lovely basil plant from of course the plant stall and also two bags of pears.
Unable to see from the website how to book a stall? as would like to get involved. Hand made cards and other stuff.
The honey stall had run out by the time I was there - and from what they said, that was their entire batch. So £5 a jar seems more than reasonable for a small harvest.
A good range, will be interesting to see how sustainable it is - weekly is quite a commitment for stallholders and shoppers alike - it was a special trip for me. Hope it is far enough away from the Broca Market to not distract from their trade either.
If the footfall sustains itself, I would expect more local shops to see this as a potential additional outlet.
Markets take a while to settle into a regular pattern of trading.
It is nice to see this happening in Brockley, it created a very pleasant social atmosphere.

There are lots of places where you can get these free. Nunhead cemetery for a start. Don't go wasting money on buying nettles!

It seems obvious to many of us that a market would not have cash machines, card readers or toilets. But the marketing was directed towards the nouveau mung; people for whom a market is a kooky oddity, somewhere to buy organic fennel and free range couscous; and not the sort of market the rest of us understand - the place that's open half a weekday where you go to buy pet products, ropey clothing and cheap fruit.
Marketing, a list of stuff the market is selling and where and when it's on. The manipulative bastards.
I don't think anyone needed telling that there wouldn't be a mobile cash machine, it was just a helpful tip that there's not a free cash machine nearby. Especially useful for the 'out of towners' or people who think Lewisham Way 'isn't Brockley'.
Out of towners,this is a few stalls in a college car park, not Camden market.
