Google recognises the eXistenZ of St Johns and Honor Oak Park
Brian O'Blivion: The television screen is the retina of the mind's eye. Therefore, the television screen is part of the physical structure of the brain. Therefore, whatever appears on the television screen emerges as raw experience for those who watch it. Therefore, television is reality, and reality is less than television.

With over 90% share of the UK search market, Google dominates the way in which people learn about you. So it has irked many that Google Maps has for years been telling everyone that Honor Oak Park was where St Johns should be.

That's fantastic news. It has been bugging me for years!
But wait, they've got it in the wrong place still. It should centre on St John's Church, as it's the Parish of St Johns. Or reasonably it could be centred on the station. But they have it across the road in SE4! St John's is SE8, as it was previously known as Deptford New Town.
Well done Brockley Market, it's frankly ridiculous that it's taken them this long to have that correct on the map.
Liking the new website too! What's that? I helped you get it together? Well, well /shameless self-promotion, shameless self-promotion\ ;o)
@David - Close enough - it's all Brockley really anyway ;)
Apart from the bit that is Ladywell, Crofton Park etc etc
If you want a two-speed Brockley, that's fine.
I live in St John's and my postcode is SE4
"Greater Brockley", when is Brockley going to forcibly annex Poland...
Just waiting for unemployment and economic collapse in the borough of Lewisham to cause people to put their faith in an authoritarian leader, backed by wealthy local businesses worried about the surge in support for People Before Profit.
You mean Sir Steve?
How odd
all the churches have been removed
If you type in Lewisham Way SE4
you get a slightly different version on google - with only St. John's C of E church (wrongly postitioned) but no others - but you do have Tesco Express and The Talbot as landmarks.
Do people still bother going to church?
Many do. For map purposes they are significant landmarks.
If you still search google for "honor oak park" it displays in st johns, i expected more of you nick, not lazy daily mail journalism.
Please check your facts before publishing articles
no it doesn't http://bit.ly/uFC4mh
Any church that organises Alpha courses is a bit dodgy anyway, so I don't care if they remove them from the map...
I miss commuting from St Johns station with its weird footbridge.
+1 for the footbridge. I also miss the ramshackle car park which always felt a bit like I was in the countryside.
YES! Finally. This has been irritating the heck outta me for ages.
"Do people still bother going to church?"
yeah, why bother!
Stand corrected - churches shown at closer range.
Finally Google gets things right! Now all we need is for the East London Line to change "Arkley" to Brockley....
