Not overblessed, but you only need to know about Mai Hong in Ladywell. Best in the area?
I claim Camberwell for Greater Brockley (there's been a mention for Cafe no 67 here somewhere I'm sure, so it's not just me!) and The Silk Road and Wuli Wuli are the best round here imo. Silk Road deliver too I think and is my favourite of the two, more of a plain benches type place, it's Wuli Wuli if I'm fancying a 'proper' meal out.
Be hard to beat City Noodle's bean curd..
We have had takeaway from there twice since they opened…
Positives: extremely friendly people, very cheap if you get the takeaway deals, sweet and sour chicken was good
Negatives: a bit tricky to order over the phone due to communication issues, got the wrong order once (rectified very quickly though), the other dishes we had were not fantastic
Still, hope they make a go of it as they seem nice.
I would have gone for a quote from White Men Can't Jump...
It's a food, Billy, that starts with the letter Q, and I got seven more!
Very pleasent staff, I has crispy shredded beef with mango and salt and pepper squid. Both very nice.
Their menu also had "pearl iced tea" or bubble tea, but they said that wasn't ready yet - still waiting on equipment.
I devoured the cream of sum yung guy there which was really hard to beat!!!
Jesus. Jim Davidson is clearly alive and well and living in Brockley.
Oh hardly. Jesus lighten up.
Roy 'Chubby' Brown?
me love the place long time
That's Vietnam. At least get your stereotypes right, idiot.
Like the place it replaced, it's always empty.
How does it pay the rent?
Tried the place when it was Saigon Blues, though the reno is just that, but behind the scenes is the same operation as before I believe, I would not recommend - with poor service, and ok food. It was my first and last time I would enter here.
i am their regular costumer.they change to buffet already, foos taste good.and fink they ready their buble tea,i order that day,not bad!yea, about the service, they are replaced by a waitress.lovely girl anyway.
Well I'm not sure that was a 'good, honest' review...
Food was very cold and disgusting and defiently not fresh. A SMALL glass of apple juice was £1.50 which was poured out of an ASDA home brand carton in front of me, i mean come on if your going to rip me off be a bit discreet about it thats just insulting! None of the three of us who chose to eat as this embarrassment of a restaurant were able to finish their plate. The options on the bain-marie looked a sorry state of left over scraps. When I asked for a refund the young lady who served us laughed in my face, and was very unhelpful. She then called over her colleague to our table and began conversing with each other in chinese right in front of us, which is EXTREMELY rude and offensive. When I asked what they were saying about us and the situation she laughed once again in my face and said "nothing". Basically a horrible place to eat never will I go back and I'd advise anyone who considers eating here to think again, go to ASDA buy a chinese ready meal and a carton of apple juice trust me it'll be nicer cheaper and you wont have staff no doubt making racist comments about you in their language.
