Hilly Fields cricket starts in May
Rachel from the Friends of Hilly Fields reports that cricket will start on the new Hilly Fields cricket square next month. She says:
On May 13th there will be a match between the Mayor’s
Eleven and Millfield and they are hoping for a celebrity umpire. Millfield have 10 matches planned on the pitch in 2012. The plans for the new changing rooms (on the Bothy site) are progressing too.

We don't like cricket...
I don't like cricket...I love it
The game of games, the sport of sports, like chess with a ball.
Was there a rock spoof docu on CH4 before the 'Spinal Tap' film?
I will definitely come and watch...if it's dry.
Will they be playing in whites? I shall be very disappointed if not.
Walked around the pitch today on the way back from the 'sham, and fantasised about having a little stall selling beer for the spectators. And players, natch.
Will the Mayor be playing or is he the celebrity umpire?
Or is that role reserved for Mike Gatting?
In which case can we have a "Guess the Weight of the Umpire" contest?
The Largest umpire the world has ever known?
And the cafe is comming along nicely, excellent.
Cafe is a little delayed actually, but apparently still aiming for a May opening. Based on the current state of it, that looks a little optimistic, but what do I know!
Also on Hilly Fields for those that can handle early starts, we're talking dawn on Thursday at 5.00am is a bird watching walk & talk, whereby you'll learn the names of the various avian critters.
Sounds excellent. What sort of talk do you offer?
Hey, does anyone know if the Hilly Fields cricket match is still on this Sunday, May 13th? I've been looking forward to it but can't find details anywhere re what time it kicks (or, um, bats) off?
Come on Millfield!
Someone here wants to know at what time wickets will be pitched.
(Looked it up}
