Behind the scenes at Brockley Central HQ

BC always tries to anticipate what people's peculiar objections to harmless, good ideas might be, but our imagination always falls short.

With thanks to the original.

Nick people posting on here expressing their opininons is what makes this site work, as you should know. You only have to look at the success of SECentral to see what I'm saying.

People may not like what I say, it's almost always right. (I'm so annoying hahaha)

Did I say otherwise? I have always been resolute in my defence of our anon policy. I am grimly fascinated by the bizarre objections people have to things. That is what the cartoon is about...

I agree with Nick.

Some people object to the most unobjectionable things.

Why didn't Brockley Central pick the story of someone to be buried to the Countdom theme?

The final countdown...

Don't worry about it Nick. Even if Lewisham Council started a "Free blowjobs for all" initiative on Hilly Fields, someone here would complain about it.

Mostly women I would imagine.

Finally something I can support.

But surely you, Nick, are objecting to such people; thereby proving that it is a natural BC editor and reader condition.

Brockley Nick said...

I'm not objecting to objections per se (in a way, I'm celebrating them). I'm objecting to stupid, OTT objections. My objection to this behaviour is perfectly reasonable and proportionate and thus, I wouldn't object to my own objection. QED.

I'm always impressed by your lack of personal insight Nick

Sir, I salute your strength, your courage, your indefatigability and I can tell you that through my tour of Real Brockley there was not one person I met who didn't want me to pass on their warmest regards.

@Anon 08:29

What did Nick do to upset you so much?

Is it you that writes all the snipy comments on BC? What fires the hatred? I'm genuinely interested.

The bitterness that you can read between the lines in some of the comments is something else - not necessarily this post but just generally...

I understand that heated debates can often decend into slagging matches but sometimes there is no attempt to win any debate or to influence any of the other commenters, its just an out and out public attack.

What has Nick / BC done to enrage you, dear reader?

Is therer a secret scandal that the BC readers need to know?

Answers on a postcard (written in blood).

@TNOTB - it could be my mum?

My theory is that Nick is his own harshest critic and he just cannot stop himself trolling himself.

Ha, as Nick says - could be his mum. Common sense. I Read this link and wondered what was causing the upset - so read back over last few items.

The internet has changed the way we all interact, 'grimly fascinated' becomes obsession, but sometimes you just need to take a break from it, them return refreshed.

Nick is doing a great job for Brockley - real brockley and virtual brockley, but he needs his sleep too.

I'm also a fan of Brockley Central. Great blog Nick.

I never read any of the comments, they are just a load of nonsense and it would be a complete waste of my time to even bother reading them.

P.S. George's comment made me laugh.
