Crofton Park station site to be redeveloped
An proposal has been submitted for the redevelopment of Hayward's Yard, a light industrial site next to Crofton Park Station that runs parallel with the railway line and Darfield Road. The application is for:
The demolition of existing buildings at Haywards Yard, Lindal Road SE4 and the construction of 6 three bedroom and 3 four bedroom two storey houses, together with the provision of cycle and bin storage, 18 car parking spaces and associated landscaping.
Accessible via a narrow driveway, the site has been variously used in its history for the manufacture of greenhouses and the processing of slate and marble. The development would effectively create a new small, modern terrace of houses, in keeping with the neighbouring residential streets.

The design on the proposal looks sympathetic to the surroundings and nice enough. Seems sensibly thought out compared to other developments in the area.
Would have been nice to get a better station exit there at the same time, but otherwise no complaints.
Scope for a bicycle rack?
All those flats will mean a lot more cars around Crofton Park.
Kneejerk reaction anon 12.38? Houses, not flats with cycle parking and 18 car parking spaces - so shouldn't affect local street parking much. Good to see something which is providing family size 3/4 bed homes(and gardens) rather than more flats...
the architects are based in Islington: disgraceful, they come down here from North London with their dishonest ways etc etc . . .
Does anyone know what the latest is in the Coulgate Sreet development? Madonald Egan's website says that a planning application is in but I can't see it in Lewisham Council website?
Looks great - an improvement for the current neighbours of the stone masons, a good move for the stone masons, houses instead of flats, parking. What's not to like. A great example of proposing something the area needs rather than what the developer wants. Tesco take note.

Also: how can I offer to help with gardening at Brockley station? It is absolutely amazing what the team has done and I feel guilty every time I go past. The flowers are well tended, shrubs immaculate and the whole thing exactly how one should be welcomed to Brockley. Well done to them. How do we all help more?

Anon 18:06 - Classic Formai are backing the application. The development will allow them to move to more suitable premises within the borough. No jobs lost, in fact in their own words it will enable Classic Formai to continue operating and their future would be secured.
