Pre-loved cards...but where will I write my greeting?!
So a fancified second hand store...interesting given the dishonest/honest debate raging in the other thread.
Hardly a fancified second hand store. I've been in (presumably unlike you kolp) and most of the stuff is new. So mostly it's a shop that sells new stuff (predominantly gifts) with a few nice bric-a-braccy/antique type pieces. It's pretty much Slater & King but in Crofton Park.
Well lets hope that they are not as expensive as Slater & King
Yes the shop is a mix of new & 'pre-loved'. Yes I haven't been there yet. And I'm unlikely to unless they get a web prescence to lure me down with specific items on sale, perhaps as gifts.Further,"Pre-loved" = fancy second items in my mind. There is nothing wrong with fancy second hand things...]in fact I live in one.
Ive been into this store before, they have some really lovely bits-and VERY reasonably priced. Much cheaper than Slater & King and even have some of the same bits as them for almost half the price! The owners are lovely too-its family run and I have met the mother and her two daughters. They always make you feel welcome and love a chat!Nice to see some stores like this opening in Crofton Park-its what it needs!
Love this shop, it's great for a nosey as the family that run it are really friendly and helpful. I try to buy gifts there as it's great to support a local shop and they also stock things that you are unlikely to find have been bought by someone else. Good luck with such a great venture.
Ooooh sounds great, and good for the area, they are cheaper than Slater and King and they are offering 10% off also worth cheaking this out for christmas presents etc
What are the opening hours?
Hi,The Opening hours are Tuesday-Friday 12-6and Saturday 10-6Unfortunately we are closed Thursday 20th, Monday 24th, Tuesday 25th and Wednesday 28th, but we are open this Friday and Saturday for the full hours
As the ungrateful nagger who noted the absence of info on this store a few threads back (think Arlo and Moe thread), I can only applaud the excellent response (or complete coincidence) from Nick and store. Can be a very good thing, this connected community lark...
@ Olivia, how long have you been open?
The shop appears on Google Street View, and the image is dated May 2012.
Great shop so many wants and must haves prices are great I never leave without buying mostly for myself ! Its a shop all will love I just wish it was open after 7 si I could go in after work on pay days :-)
We have been open since the end of April/Beginning of May and have been involved in the local street parties etc to get our name out there and then one of our customers told us about the brockley blog so we decided to post on here. Also we are looking to trial later openings on Thursdays and Fridays until around 7pm or 8pm to see if this will be of interest to people. We are always open for suggestions so just let me know via here, facebook ir twitter! Thanks x
Popped down there last weekend - we picked up a really pretty fascinator for one of our bridesmaids for our upcoming wedding. We paid £4 for it, which was a bit of a bargain! It was in great condition, and looks basically the same as another one we paid £20+ for. There wasn't as much stock as I'd hoped, but for a relatively new shop, it's great. Looking forward to visiting now and again to see what other bargains I can find :)
I got a fantastic 'I love Brockley' bag here a month or so ago and bought one for a friend as well - she loves it so much she framed it! I thought it was just a bit of fun :)I frequently pop in and as they're getting more and more stock it's getting even better. Keep supporting people!
