Big Red Cinema

If you haven't tried out Big Red yet, we have to ask what you've been doing with your time. It has a bus you can eat pizza in, a sun-trap garden beneath the route of the DLR, a lorry that doubles as a cinema and one of the best programmes of music events in the area. Every time we go, a new feature has been added or bolted on.

Now, with winter coming, they've added family film screenings to their growing repertoire.

Nice idea but the pizzas aren't very good and certainly not as good as the New Cross House.

Pizzas...

"I put it to you that a pizza is just a slow-moving frisbee for the transportation of tomato sauce and cheese."

as Nicholas Blincoe once said.

11am?! who the hell wants to be at the cinema at 11am in the winter?! 3 or 4 would surely be more appropriate?

Every cinema has morning showings.

In this case, I suppose it means you can eat lunch at the end.

Those who want to go to them will. Those who don't won't.

The pizzas are delicious on the bus - new cross house pizzas are also nice but the ordering system there infuriates me so much prefer the big red...

I second Pizza Lover - the New Cross House ordering system borders on the insane. The Big Red pizzas are really good and have interesting twists on the classics. I went just last week and thought it was brilliant.

I also had a delicious pizza at the Big Red recently. Better than the New Cross House in my opinion. Can thoroughly recommend it.

The pizzas here took me back to the Brisbane Mall, in Queensland, Australia, where I was fortunate enough to enjoy one of the best and most beautifully flavoured pizzas of enjoyment. Thin crust, enhanced with basil, tomato based with quest for personal seafood excitement. Not too excited, however, but to a subltie that should be aligned with a good quality squid. Topped with only the best handgrown tomato. Envoking then a qualification with a corresponding European pizza which has subsequently escaped from the purer Australia sensation but, here, may be drawn, once again back to the more purer European originator who unassumingly crossed the moat to arrive up the river source to once a fashionable heritage arrival point, that being, our own .... Deptford. The bonus is a red bus. The seafood pizzas a must !
