BROCKSPACE

BCer Ali Kati is helping to launch a new arts venue called BROCKSPACE. She writes:

BROCKSPACE presents WITH(OUT), an art exhibition set within the residential space of a flat in a converted Victorian terrace.

This curated exhibition by Something Human, a curator collective, brings together artists, designers, thinkers and makers from different countries and cultural backgrounds. Drawing upon polynational understandings of the home, the exhibition explores the ambivalent relationship between the interior and the exterior that plays out over issues such as identity, borders and migration, belonging and longing, the tensions of the within and without. The exhibition brings to the space an interdisciplinary selection of artworks, film, performance, talks and workshops.

BROCKSPACE is a new exhibition and project space, salon and residential place in Brockley. Something Human is an international curator-collective that recognises socio-historical-cultural contexts from which we work and interact and as well brings together our interdisciplinary interests in architecture, design, sculpture, mixed media, moving image and performance.

DATES Call for Artists submissions - 21 October 2012 Exhibition and events from 30 November, 2012. For more information, please email somethinghuman.info@gmail.com

Could we have a translation of the obtuse language into plain English please. I'd really like to know what they're about.

They're going to turn someone's flat in to a place where you can go and look at nice art.
