On a related note, me and other half had dinner at JC last week and were told that they had a new chef starting that very day. The menu and food were both great. My only gripe was that portions were a little on the stingy side - I suppose they are just encouraging starters/desserts but I see JC as a pub first rather than a restaurant... so I was hoping for a big pub sized plate of food...

Anyway no complaints about the taste...

Intersting comment from AliAliAfro -
I think the menu has improved recently with more exciting options than previously.

At the weekend I had the squid ink risotto and it surpassed my expectations.

Anyone tried the rest of the fare on the menu?

I had the new menu (went for the burger) and it was tasty, but I thought it wasn't as good as the old burger (which was considerably better than their chef before that's burger).

Very good pub food and very reasonably priced.

Cant remember the technical (flowery) name but I had some very tender lamb on a bed of soft slithers of creamy potato. It came with a tasty gravy sauce.

And now I am getting hungry again...
