Surrey Quays to Clapham Junction - 28 mins
The new East London Line timetable for the Clapham Junction extension reveals how long the journeys west from Surrey Quays will take.
Clapham Junction will be 28 minutes away (plus seven minutes from Brockley to Surrey Quays), making it uncompetitive with the existing direct connection on the London Bridge to Victoria loop, which takes around 32 minutes during peak times.
However, the links to other stations along the route should be more useful, with the likes of Clapham High Street and Denmark Hill only 16 and 12 minutes from Surrey Quays respectively.
The new service is due to start in December.

for camberwell, quicker to take a bus on lewisham way surely?
If you live near Crofton Park you can get the train from there to Peckham Rye/Denmark Hill and make a much shorter connection with the new Overground than current services. e.g. Leave CP 19.15, change at DH, arrive Clapham High Street 19.40, Wandsworth Road, 19.42 or CJ 19.52.
Currently 43 mins just to clapham high street. Will be just 25!
Ten minutes from Wandsworth Road to Clappy J seems quite a long time. Any idea why that is?
They're a mile and a half from each other and it's not in a straight line. Add a minute either side for people faffing about with the doors etc.
@Sarah,
Good point but if only they put on more trains, ran later and had a proper weekend service.
Still, I suppose we should be grateful for every little improvement and this is certainly a step in the right direction...
The current services from Crofton Park seem timed to just miss connections at Denmark Hill, and vice-versa. 4tph on the ELL/SLL will be an improvement, but something really needs to be done about the 2tph off peak service through Crofton Park. Not heard any mention of it from Boris, TfL or Network Rail. Does anyone have an update?
you need to remember that to LB to Vic only runs every 30 mins,giving a very competitive alterntive in its availability, especially at 07.01 in the morning which is when i most need an alternative without having to get 3 trains
10 minutes to get from Wandsworth Road to Clapham Junction? What is it doing???
If I was a betting man, I'd say that there was room in the timetable for a slightly delayed train to make up a bit of time and not arrive late ... or one that was on time to arrive early
The London Bridge to Victoria will be discontinued, so not much choice left.
