The Catford Bridge Tavern Reopens on Friday
After a brief forced-closure, the CBT team tweet:
Re-opening party Friday! We get the keys friday morning and there's lots to do, but we're aiming for doors open at 6pm. Our future is not yet permanently secure, but hopefully v soon!

Shame that this great news has been followed by the news that the Mr Lawrence shop is closing at the end of the year.
Bar is staying open though.
Brilliant news!

What?? Has that been confirmed? Just the off-licence or the bar too? Damn, I love that place!
@fattyfattybumbum
Sadly yes. Mr Lawrence was telling everybody in the shop yesterday.
The bar is staying and he mentioned something about a web shop with pick up from the bar. He also implied that there may be somebody lined up to use the shop space.
That'll be a massive loss to the area
:(

Gutted. Thanks for the info.
The loss of Mr Lawrence deserves a thread of its own. It really will be missed hugely.
Was any reason given?
Great news about the Catford Bridge Tavern but terrible news about Mr Lawrences's. Really hope it's not true. I use the store probably every couple of weeks. I love the place.
Also the Talbot is on the market as a going concern. Not sure what that means really but hopefully nothing to do with it closing!
The Talbot's been on the market for yonks. As has the Wickham and Albertine's and we know that the New Cross Inn is too.
Story on Mr L shortly.
Well, I went past about midday an it's still firmly boarded up!
According the their Twitter feed they are still waiting for the agents to turn up with keys.
