No 178 New Cross Road

No 178 New Cross Road is a new cafe for New Cross Gate, which opened earlier this month. The cafe is operated as a social enterprise and serves an eclectic mix of food, from kedgeree and salads to granola, bacon sandwiches and pancakes. Unexceptional from the outside, it's been fitted-out beautifully inside.

Please let us know what you think.

The breakfast pizza is incroyable.

Plus they will be getting their alcohol licence soon, which is great as this place is pub-sized and could make a great new watering hole for thirsty New Cross/Telegraph Hill residents.

I'm biased as I helped to set this up, but think it is really good.

We have a pretty substantial prawn chilli wrap on and our fish finger sandwich has proved a crowd pleaser to!

Can't wait to visit this place, New Cross really needs some down to earth but good food places! (chinwag is a bit to snazzy with its interior for me)

Sadly for you, 178 is in New Cross Gate. New Cross still awaits "some down to earth but good food places".

The place is very pleasant and the coffee is good. The staff still
seems a bit confused but in a graceful manner. The menu is quite odd. Morning sandwiches and pastries will attract more people and will make
them come back.

This is such a lovely new cafe that Craft Collective are running another #CRAFTmate workshop there on Wednesday 14 August from 2-6pm - all FREE and everyone welcome! Members of the JOY (Just Older Youth) Craft Club will be there and possibly some members of Toucan Employment (charity which helps adults with learning difficulties find work). Highly recommend their salmon fishcakes by the way - delicious!

Lovely coffee, friendly accommodating staff and apparently very decent kedgeree

This place is great! My daughter lives up the road from here and recommended we go there for breakfast one morning. We are visiting from Australia and were after a good coffee and certainly got one, but the surprise was the full English breakfast pizza and my wife had the vegatarian pizza. A strange breakfast, but really good.
