The Honor Oak returns

Since its closure last year, The Honor Oak - once arguably the best pub in the Greater Brockley area - has sat hunched on Brockley Rise, a sad hulk, smashed by squatters. Now, its revival is underway and the reopening is due in the next couple of months.

With thanks to Brockley Jon for the heads-up.

So that will be 6 venue launches this year in the greater Brockley area in as many months (if we include a couple of re-launches): London Beer Dispensary, LP Bar, Brockley Brewery, Little Nan's Brockley, Jam Circus (Relaunch), Mr Lawrence (re-launch). Did I miss any?

Good work Brockley!

Silly me, I missed the Honor Oak - so that's 7.

I'd also count The Job Centre in Deptford (another Antic bar). 8!

Absolutely fantastic. Now I'm hoping something nice will open in Brockley Rd (around Brockley Mess). Some of the shops, especially on the other side of the road from BM, look really depressing. And the ones which are open seem all to be funeral directors...

Wasn't there a plan for the church to become a restaurant a while back?

Wondering what they are going to do with the new building site near Brockley station. There are lots of contrasting reports on this one!
