Nice play on words, didn't the "Young Turks" commit mass genocide?

Lots of different groups called The Young Turks. But yes, Armenia did suffer a genocide in 1915 at the hands of a Turkish government led by a faction of The Young Turks.

Terence Trent effing Darby the scourge of the Irish in Deptford and Honor Oak becomes an Armenian nationalist.

There were other meanings, but as the extent of the Young Turks' crimes became apparent and accepted over history these were rightfully superseded. Shamefully though there is very little remorse for these crimes amongst Turks.

Do enjoy your suppers though.

Ah well, I will defer to you about which meanings are and aren't contemporary. Google reckons the most significant usage of The Young Turks is a news show (my favourite US news show, by coincidence, and co-hosted by a Turk and an Armenian), so you might want to put them right too.

Looking forward to a Khmer Rouge themed supper night, let's call it The Chilling Fields.

as you, monkeyboy, retain the title of Brockley Nicks aspiring mini-me

That would be a good headline. There's a job for you here at BCHQ, although you'd have to stop referring to Irish people and Travellers by offensive racial epithets.

I'll think about it
