Worth a visit? Oh pho sho

I got a flyer today advertising a new Vietnamese restaurant in Lewisham (first floor, 100-104 Lewisham High Street) called Pho House. I'd love to know if anybody has tried it yet - could this finally be an eating establishment in Lewisham that is worth a visit? The pictures on the flyer look very nice and they're offering 50% off all food until 23 October.

Some friends of mine visited last Saturday and were very unimpressed with both food and service! Big shame as I was looking forward to trying it!

There's another new pho place in Lewisham, opposite the McDonald's, not sure what it's called, but visited it last Sunday and got a huge bowl of lovely, steaming pho as well as some excellent salt and pepper squid. I highly reccomend it...

I think its called the "Noodle Bar" on Lewis Grove, but apparently the name may change.
I love it, been there are least 5 times over the last few weeks, its just good, clean, fresh Vietnamese food. Nice family as well. On another note........on the same strip an Italian restaurant, run by the same family who have the lovely Deli are opening any day now. hopefully it should start to be a little bit of a destination !!!

Hopefully the success of the Street Feast will show decent restaurants that there is a market for food other than fried chicken (although that obviously has its place) in Lewisham

Exactly !!

I'm surprised by the suggestion of "finally be an eating establishment in Lewisham that is worth a visit". Taste Inn on the Lee High Road and the next door Rox Burger are good.

Just been to the Noodle bar again for lunch, i had the Dry vermicelli with grilled chicken, its like a soup without the broth. Absolutely gorgeous !! Also we tried your salt and chilly squid. Yum!!

Rox is very nice, will look into Taste Inn as well.

I cannot believe nobody has mentioned Levante the Turkish restaurant opposite Weatherspoons. Very nicely seasoned food.

Sadly when I visited Taste Inn a couple of weeks ago, they'd just got a new chef, changed menu and are imminently renaming themselves China China. I wasn't impressed by the food I ordered.

Of course -- LEVANTE -- how could we forget...! yum.

When I went I was offered the 'English' menu and the 'Chinese' menu. We opted for the Chinese menu which was the same as always, but I think the new 'English' menu was branded China China.

If you go again perhaps try asking for the Chinese menu?

In fairness Max mentioned Levante, but yes it is very good as well. Great atmosphere.

Taste of Lewisham might be an awful name but it serves great Sri Lankan food at great prices.

Hi everyone! We are the noodle bar opposite McDonald's on Lewisham High Street. Just to let everyone know that we're now called Pho Thanh Chau. Many thanks to everyone that have been to our restaurant and tried our food and have given us good reviews. We also do take away and home delivery from 5 PM. We would like to welcome everyone to Pho Thanh Chau and experience our authentic Vietnamese food. We also offer good Chinese food too. We look forward to seeing you all.

The new Italian restaurant run by the folks at Gennaro's is open. Tried their pizza on the weekend and it was excellent!

What happened?! You were there and then you weren't... You always seemed to be busy, even at lunchtime. We're sorry. My kids loved your noodle soup!
