Grinling Gibbons is country's top state primary

Deptford's Grinling Gibbons Primary School has been declared the country's top-performing state primary in the latest Sunday Times Parent Power league table. As the Daily Mail notes, more than half the pupils receive free school meals and the majority speak English as a second language. An amazing achievement.

This is wonderful news. Great achievement by the kids and the teachers. There's been concerted effort to properly fund the schools sector in the whole borough over the past 10 years and the results are starting to bear fruit.

Grinling Gibbons is top, but almost all schools in the Lewisham borough have stepped up level.
As result of the building schools for future programme, which was scrapped by Michael Gove in 2010. It's funded by the Pfi -private finance initiative so we'll see how the schools are maintained in the coming years, especially with cuts coming to the borough.
But a round of applause to Cynthia Eubank, the a teacher for 40 years who's the executive of GG.

Someone may want to ask why the 2014 Grinling Gibbons KS2 results have not been reported and why there has been a DFE investigation? Sometimes things are too good to be true for a reason.

Rumours have it they cheat and children are told what to put onto the test papers. Isn't this Head being investigated over the 2014 results by the standards agency?

You sound very disgruntled, 'Truth'. i assume you are also 'Lewisham school employee'. Nick might want to consider whether your posts are libellous. Very interesting article about Grinling Gibbons school in the Standard yesterday. http://www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/london-life/the-superhead-how-cynthia-eubank-turned-a-struggling-deptford-primary-school-into-the-best-in-the-country-9872129.html

Woman of Brockley, I'm afraid the two people are not the same. They *are* subject to investigation and no results have been posted within the LA from summer 2014. This is common knowledge within schools in the borough. If you have any doubts email/ring the school and ask them to confirm what the situation is with their 2014 KS2 results.
I'll say again...if it's too good to be true, it usually is.

I am only stating what other people say and what is common knowledge. Don't think that is libellous at all.
Can't help it if people don't like what they hear.

Please feel free to phone the school and ask for their published 2014 results NOT what the school says they are. Doubt you'll get them.

The DfE published its tables yesterday and............................Grinling Gibbons did NOT have any results. Null and void apparently!! Indeed all that glistens is not gold. I rest my case.

Do you know what the criteria were to end up in the Sunday Times Parent Power league table? All seems a bit dodgy I must say.

Chickens come home to roost this evening. On the ITV news and Evening Standard. This school has been up to nonsense for years AND Lewisham knew/ignored it. Rumours fly around the borough amongst the schools and the local authority choose to ignore because it suits their purpose especially those at the top of the education tree

I take it all back. Just seen the Standard article mentioned by Truth below. What a stupid thing to do!
