Let's hope they can set up and take down in less than 2 weeks this time. It's a long time for a corporate event to be allowed to take over public space.

how long does a circus set up for? is that any less profit making?

Without the shoe-less, shoplifting kids a circus brings to town.

I went on the Sunday. Festival seemed about 60% full and was very family oriented.
In a strange way it was one of the best festivals I've been to, as I didn't queue once for food, drink, or to use the loos. Ace!
On the other hand, tickets were massively discounted for Sunday because of lack of demand, so wouldn't recommend buying one just yet.

I went Saturday night and grace Jones hula hooping was a highlight of my year!

What is the area taken up by the circus compared to that fenced off for the Festival? And two weeks to set up and take down for a two day event is just inefficiency when the circus does it in hours. Still, if the organisers pay full rental for the full two weeks it would be good news for the Council but I don't expect that happens.
