The Iron Throne of Greater Brockley

Lord Varys: Power resides where men believe it resides. It's a trick. A shadow on the wall. And a very small man can cast a very large shadow.
- Game of Thrones

Lewisham Shopping Centre has been transformed into Kings Landing today, with a visit by the Iron Throne to promote the launch of season five in April - a moment which our every waking moment is spent contemplating. Shoppers will get a chance to have their photo taken, sitting on the throne.

Which of Greater Brockley's seven great families will sit on it? The Lannisters of the Conservation Area? House Arryn perched high in the Eyrie of Telegraph Hill? House Tyrell of Ladywell? The Stormlands of Midtown, torn between competing families? The southernmost land of Crofton Park, where sits House Martell? Will a King of the North emerge from the burning wreckage of St Johns? Or will the Iron Born of West Brockley take the throne?

When you play the Game of Greater Brockley, you win or you die.

We are indebted to Fintan for the link. And a Lannister always pays his debts.

All this nonsense about 'Greater Brockley the title for this should be 'The Iron Throne of Lewisham', Brockley for me and most people I speak to is the small electoral area and nothing more and is part of the borough of Lewisham. It feels like you want it to be bigger than it is and are choosing who can be part of your ' Greater Brockley' club based on if an area has x amount of coffee shops, independent shops, gentrified pubs etc. When Catford, for example, becomes more gentrified and these types of places open up will it be allowed to become part? In the same way Lewisham was added to the club and banner of this site last year due to streetfeast and the new development works taking place.

Two things:

Thing 1, Game of Thrones is made up, it's a bit of fun. Dont take it seriously or you'll be cross.

Thing 2, Greater Brockley - See Thing 1.

Catford has long been a member of Greater Brockley. Nick gets in and stakes Brockley's claim long before gentrification hits.

Who thinks Brockley is based on the ward?! The Brockley electoral ward doesn't even include Broca Food Market, Brockley Police Station, Brockley Mess, The Rivoli, Hilly Fields etc. but does include up to Deptford Bridge...

Sounds like you have emerged from across the narrow sea to kill the men in iron suits and tear down their stone houses.
