I am running a Turkish pop-up restaurant at the Lewisham Arthouse on the 28th of August 18:30 - 23:00.

I had my first pop-up at the Lewisham Arthouse during its pop-up cafe season earlier this year. It turned out to be a really lively night so we are doing it again!

There will be four dishes of classic Turkish food and refreshing Turkish beer. The menu will be inspired by my roots in Kastamonuo Kastamonu Turkey and the cuisine of the Black Sea Region - simple yet tasty dishes.

GOODjumble, May 31st

Bryony writes:

Set up by two friends in SE4 hankering after a good jumble, GOODjumble aims to be just that. Expect to find high quality women’s clothes and accessories at much less than the original selling price or even something altogether unique, in beautiful surroundings close to home.

Shopping second-hand is always exciting, because you never know what you might find, but we wanted to make the experience easier and generally more agreeable.

We have fitting rooms, lots of mirrors and everything is clean and beautiful. Customers can get a coffee (from Lawrence's Dark Fluid  - Brockley market star..) while browsing and even have clothes altered on the spot if they don’t fit perfectly.

Selling is simple too. Book a stall and decide on your own prices. Turn up on the day to your allocated space, man the stall for 3 hours and walk away with all the profits. Anything that doesn’t sell can be left and will be given to a local charity. (The Brockley sale's charity is Celia Hammond Animal Trust)

The first sale will be held at the Art House on Lewisham Way on 31st May with the second on 14th June at fh space in Forest Hill.

Entrance is £3 and sellers can reserve their seller space at www.goodjumble.com

FFWD the Revolution

Amanda writes:

In the hundredth anniversary year of the opening of Deptford Central Library, a FFWD the Revolution is a performative tour and publication by Ruth Beale that will chart the the history of the building, the uses of each space, and the political ambitions of its occupants.

Combining new writing and archive material, the work encounters presence and absence, ambition and legacy, from the Carnegie endowment to 75 years of public library service, from a brief occupation in the early 90s as a venue for raves to community protest, and the last 20 years' tenure as an artists' studio cooperative.

Ruth Beale is the current Graduate Studio Bursary Artist at Lewisham Arthouse.

Wednesday 16th April 2014
Book launch: 6-9pm
Tours: 8pm, 8.30pm
Tours are free but ticketed. Visit 44wd.eventbrite.co.uk to book a place.

Room at the Arthouse

Amanda Francis writes:

There are three studio vacancies currently available at the Arthouse.

Two studios are available to let from 1 July (studios 1 and 2) and the other studio is available from 1 August (studio 3). Studio one is a shared studio space on the first floor and is a sublet for 6 months. Studio 2 is a partitioned space on the ground floor with window and step free access. Studio 3 is a basement studio with natural light and access to the yard. If you are interested in taking up any of these studios and becoming a member of Lewisham Arthouse please go to our website for more information and details of how to apply: www.lewishamarthouse.org.uk

This is a photo of the sublet - it isn't a great representation as its a lovely space with lots of natural light. It is also one half of a self-contained studio - with its own sink even.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 19 June 2013.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed shortly afterwards and will have a chance to look at the studio. Owing to the large number of applications we are unable to organise viewings prior to the interview.
