Dulwich Hamlet - Pay What You Like

Unless you fancy watching Cray Valley Paper Mills FC, Dulwich Hamlet is our local Non-League team (get there on the 484 bus). They are celebrating national Non League football day with a 'pay what you like' entrance fee. Attendances rose 36% last season and they seem to have half the South East London blogosphere in their back pocket, so it's a good time to give them a go.

If you like football, it's fairly obvious what it means. It means they pass it about a bit, encourage flair, play open attacking football rather, don't cynically hack at their opponents, etc, etc.

Sunderland is your nearest club? Jings!
Tell you what, I used to walk over Blackheath on some weekend mornings and the level of football there was poor but the level of swearing from players and spectators was of the very highest level of obscenity - even down to people marching on to the pitch (notably short people) and cautioning the referee on his handling of the match! Great stuff!
