Pizza place for Brockley Road
Gulen's Bar, another long-term fixture in the Brockley firmament, is reinventing itself again. The team has tried several formats in recent years, without much success, but this incarnation - a pizza place - seems the most likely to succeed.
Brockley needs a good pizza place. If they get it right, it could be the hit this place needs. The fit-out is currently under way.
With thanks to Ellie.

Please don't call it Gulens Pizza or any other variation with Gulens on it.
Nothing wrong with the pizza at Villa Toscana two doors down. It's not trendy like SoDo though.
Does this mean the evil bastard offspring of two fast foods, the Doner Pizza wil be available in Brockley? I hope so.
Brockley already has a decent pizza place - Dominic's Pizza.
Top quality, honest fare.
Now we're talking. It's time to reassert real food's place on Brockley dinner tables.
My favourite hangover meal is a Dominic's pizza. Sure there's no pretentious ingredients like artichoke or soughdough but it's pretty damn tasty.
With Meze Mangal, Pizza Hut, Villa Toscana and Sodo, Brockley already has the good pizza place thing covered on all budgets and taste, or lack thereof.
I liked Gulens and often had a sit down meal on a night in there. The guys who worked in there were fab. We'll support it whatever it is.
Of those, only Pizza Hut delivers.
Not a pizza place but pizza take away. Terrible news
