I went to see Athlete there last year. It was fantastic. Fabulous venue, beautiful surroundings and pretty good acoustics for an outdoor gig.

It had a really nice picnic concert kind of feel to it and it's right on the doorstep. Very well-organised and nice intimate venue where the band can interact easily with the crowd. Very easy to get to the front row, if you were so inclined, or head back a bit to sit on a rug and quaff a beer or two, provided by Meantime of course. All very civilised and very highly recommended.

I went to see Jools Holland last year and it was a great night- even walked home as it was such a nice evening, amazing to have an outdoor venue so close rather than trekking up to Hyde Park etc. Going to see Squeeze this year- looks like the weather is picking up for next week so hopefully it will be another good night out

I stumbled across this last year when Athlete was playing.... Didn't actually go in but had a beer at that new bar which serves Meantime. Very pleasant...

I shall be heading there to see The Divine Comedy, whose gig opens this year's festie. Kinda like the idea of a picnic; wonder if any food is available for some al fresco dinner between acts?
