Coming soon: London Velo

One of the best things about London's biking boom (somewhere on the list below improved public health, better air quality and lower traffic congestion) is the return of independent bike shops to our high streets.
The area's already attracted Curve, Ladywell Village Cycles, Vaidas and the life-saving Brockley Bikes. Now comes London Velo, joining Curve on Deptford High Street, combining beer, burgers and bikes - and have linked up with Big Red to offer pizzas too.

They're taking over an abandoned hair salon next to the Tesco and giving it a comprehensive makeover.

Related... isn't it time that the TFL cycle hire scheme reached, south east London? The scheme has changed sponsors, it will have been going for 5 years in July...

Just like everything else, SE London gets things last... It's what makes us special...

I would say you couldn't make it up, but actually you could - it's entirely predictable.

Same with the Cycle Superhighways, not that they're much good but it's been how long since they were set up north of the river and south west? 6 or 7 years at least. As far as I can tell there's nothing anywhere near SE London and no timetable for anything on the cards....

BrocSoc would probably moan about the blue paint not being in keeping with the conservation area or something.

What's happened to SOUTH? said...

Wrong place to post but I couldn't find the original article. Could we have an update on SOUTH the antipodean place going into the BFM. It should have been open by now. Is it still going ahead?
