The Wharves goes to consultation
The Wharves, a major residential project proposed for North Deptford, has been acquired by Lend Lease, who appear to be in a hurry to get the project off the ground.
The developers have already started hiring project managers and have launched a new website and consultation, with the aim of reviewing the scheme in light of the fact that a lot's changed in the area in the last five years, since the original plans were drawn up.
The original designs, providing 905 new homes, were excellent and Lend Lease have hastened to add that they don't intend to change much about the look and feel of the scheme. Most likely, they will seek to capitalise on the departure of the Ascott Cab Company, who were due to be accommodated in the original scheme and increase the number of homes on-site, which would make sense.
