The Crofton Park and Honor Oak Neighbourhood Forum

Kay writes:

Established in July 2014, the Crofton Park and Honor Oak Park Neighbourhood Forum (HopCroft Forum) is a group that will lead on pulling together a Neighbourhood Plan for the area to outline the future for Crofton Park and Honor Oak Park.

Starting with blank sheets of paper we would like to hear your views, ideas and aspirations for your Neighbourhood. If you live or work within the Neighbourhood Area, or even regularly visit then please help us make the vision reality.

You are invited to Crofton Park Library at 7pm on Wednesday 5 November 2014, to start the process and hear about what is being planned.

There will be food and drink to help your ideas flow.

I'd love to get involved, but that's slap bang in the middle of fireworks night and I have already bought tickets for a show. Any other ways to participate?

I smell revolution. You gonna allow this to happen Nick?
Next they'll be legalising abortion and gay marriage and telling us we can't keep slaves.

it's something encouraged by the council because a consultant from a PR agency went in and told them about "community empowerment and how to win the next election with this important 'under the table' tool"

Given that the process started well over a year ago, so before the May election those that cynical might think plans could now be dropped till just before the next election. Doubt this process will make much difference in the Lewisham/Deptford constituency either. Still localism has always been popular before it was given that name and anything that moves decision making from the town hall to local people can't be too bad.

Yes, except that the neighbourhood area was pushed through without proper consultation. Divides Honor Oak Park - in fact their first published action item is to address speeding on a section of Honor Oak Park road outside their area so the locals most affected will not be consulted by the forum. All seemingly to feed the vanity of a local councillor sadly and really against the spirit of the Localism act.
