The big switch on
Despite the appalling weather we had yesterday, this didn't seem to dampen spirits at the Xmas market. Come 5 o'clock, a good crowd gathered around the tree outside The Barge for carol singing and the switching on of the Christmas lights.
Your BC roving reporter was there, albeit still hungover, a bit soggy, and not as full of festive cheer as we'd have liked. We did manage to mumble our way through some carols, and attempt a few paparazzi shots of local celeb Patrick Baladi counting down to the big moment. Were any of you there?

Does he live in brockley? Did anyone see him strutting his stuff in 'The Office'?
Hes hot.
He's the actor you claim to know.
And probably not gay.

I just want to say thank you to the Brockley Cross Action Group, for organising a really homely Christmas market, it was a cosy affair despite the rainy weather. Thanks so much to all.
Yes Pesto, I'll second that from all here at BC - thanks BXAG for another brilliant local event. Judging by the number of people who were there when I dropped by, it was a big success despite the weather.
I went to the Christmas market in the early afternoon. Was particularly impressed to see Howard and Badger there. Although we were less impressed by the lady who sold us her African food telling us it was vegetarian when we found bits of bone and meat in it!
no comment.
Bet it made you feel less lethargic though.
Thanks to all who organised this- it was really lovely to have something festive in Brockley. It was much appreciated. THANK YOU! XXX
Lovely mulled wine from the BXAG. Warmed me up after a long hard slog xmas shopping in Croydon.....
