Brockley Park Cars to leave in September

Brockley Park Cars, the car service operating from the garage at 180 Brockley Road, are to vacate the site in September and relocate to new premises in Blackfen.

The move helps pave the way for 180 Brockley Road to become a mixed-use development, but no start date for construction has yet been set.

Nandos please, honest chicken for honest people.

That's probably the best we can hope for! This is grat news, and I hope it means the development is starting this year. Has anyone noticed how the current one is going (Martin's yard)?

Cool independant cafe, restaurant or bar please. Or gym. Or new Mr Lawrence wine shop premises.

We desperately need a gym in central Brockley

I assume that ACE is subletting from the MOT, so ACE will go as well. Good news!

Waitrose please!

Irony I trust? Na Pura in Nunhead deliver Portuguese peri peri chicken that puts Nandos to shame.

We need more schools! As it is, most schools in the area are already over subscribed!

What a shame the garage has to relocate to Blackfen, they are a great bunch of trustworthy guys and I will miss taking my car there and the convienence of it too.
Hopefully with the regeneration that horrible pink advert car will go to!

This location is definitely not the answer to a school problem. That's just madness and would kill off Brockley

We really don't. We need a centre with a good amount of retail, bars and restaurants.

The perfect location for a new supermarket?

Tim Chaplin said...

Please not another supermarket. Affordable homes more like.

Ah, yes, the perfect place for a block of compact and bijou dwelling units for city commuters. Brockley has great potential.

What has it being independent got to do with anything? I'd welcome a well furnished Starbucks in the same spot.

Just something different - otherwise everywhere ends up looking the same with all the same shops. Local businesses spend money locally as well. Look I'm not saying independent or ill hate it, just that a successful independent business would be a welcome addition.

I agree with Waitrose, and hopefully the Barge will become a gastro-pub

That is true, I guess I am just venting the lack of school places for the local kids. Hopefully another high quality school nearby in the near future.

I vote for a Cinema.

Art-house flicks only. Foreign language films should comprise 80% of the fare.

One screen.

Booze-pints allowed into the auditorium. No popcorn, only crudités & M&S Chocolate Mini-Bites.

Sorted.

Good shout! That'd be my sort of thing too.

Sorry to be a killjoy, but we already know what this is going to be. It is going to be small shops and, if we're lucky, cafe or bar space.

Poundland please!

Headhunter said...

I've nothing against Poundland etc but Lewisham as a borough is littered with fried chicken and Pound shops... Isn't it time we had a bit of variety?

RB said...

Poundland is a good thing. Good products sold at a working man's price - if you ever need some tupperwear, a scrubbing brush or a new pair of pliers then Poundland is a great place to go rather than an 'artisan' shop for the same product (albeit at 5x the price).

Still, consume conspicuously as seems to be the Brockley mantra.
