The state of Lewisham's parks

The 2011 Lewisham Parks survey is now underway. You can complete the survey before June 17th by following this link.

Doggers and dog poo notwithstanding, we're lucky to have some outstanding green spaces on our doorsteps - in particular, Hilly Fields, Telegraph Hill, Ladywell Fields and Blythe Hill. There's also been substantial investment in our green spaces over the last few years, with new playgrounds, waterways and sports facilities either completed or in the pipeline, so please have your say on how our parks can be maintained and improved.

With thanks to Tamsin.

I love the new play ground at Hilly Fields, the variety of Peckham Rye and the convenience of Telegraph Hill. Haven't gone to the new revamped Ladywell Fields yet. As the mother of a 3 year old I feel very lucky to live here.

The Hilly Fields is a pleasant park and is fairly busy so definately a popular local choice, love the newly landscaped children's play area. I often see large groups making use of the park facilities - with open air keep fit classes and the football practice and matches along with the bowling green. Would be good to know how and where to join in with some of these events.

Look forward to taking the children to the new Adventure playground at the Ladywell park soon.

Though Cornmill Gardens is a bit tatty (the contractors clearly didn't put enough/any topsoil under the new grass they laid) the River Ravensbourne looks fantastic at the moment as any commuter walking by there will testify. With half an eye closed you could be in the heart of the countryside!
