News flash
The area is currently experiencing a flashing crime wave. Incidents have been reported all over Brockley, Ladywell and Telegraph Hill. Now Angela writes:
I just wanted to make you aware that I was the receiver of a flasher this morning on Brockley Road, right near the Esso petrol station at about 6am. I was walking from my place up to Brockley Station.
I know you have reported these incidents on the blog before and noticed there have been other incidents in the area from reading your blog.
It has been reported to the police also.

Interesting choice of words, "receiver of " is less disempowering than 'victim of'
What did he look like Angela?
Hi Jane,
He wasn't much taller than me (5'6) and quite a small/skinny build, caucasian, short/light brown hair, slim face. He was wearing light coloured jeans and a black jacket at the time.
Obviously I got out of there asap so didn't get a detailed look at his face.
Shame about the rather trivialising headline on this story.
You won't have liked "Muppetry of the penis" (headline to an earlier story) then either. Neither article trivialises the issue at all.
At least you covered it; usually you like to sweep crime under the carpet, imho. It's a PR instinct I suppose.
That last post is B**s**t. Plenty of crime stories on here. Of course it could be that you are simply a bored troll...and I've reacted again.
i'm raising a posse for a lynch mob if anyone is up for it
i need 5 strong men with horses, rope and a preacher
Was this really a "flasher" or someone having a quiet piss against the side of the petrol station?
The way people are carrying on it's as if they haven't seen a penis before.
50% of the population has one!
Anon1605: You say "sweep under the carpet", I say "doesn't have an unhealthy, prurient fixation with banging on about crime and how awful everything is all the time."
There is plenty of crime reporting on here, but if you want to set up your own blog devoted to every mobile phone theft and burglary in the area, go right ahead.
Nick has just explained why "man bites dog" is news, and why "dog bites man" isn't.
Although for some reason "man has cock" is now news as well.
Anon - I'm not sure why you are so keen to dismiss this incident as an unfortunate misunderstanding, but there is no reason to doubt that this was indeed a flashing incident. I'm sure we're all capable of telling the difference between a flasher and someone taking a leak. If you have any evidence to the contrary, present it to the police.
It's like have-a-go-at-Nick-day on here today!
"How you feeling?"
"Pretty f***ing unappreciated, Al."
"Hey, look. I love you. So do a lot of the other guys. So hang in there, man, you hear me? You hang in there."
This issue should not be trivalised and I think that Anon comment that 50% of the population has a penis completely misses the point.
Flashing is a trigger crime which is very likely to lead to further more serious sexual assaults. I have been flashed twice in the 12years I have lived in London and as a young woman walking on her own it is bloody scary and not a joke.
I have been flashed at when I was a child and when I was an adult and it's very scary. I have also seen plenty of blokes have a piss up a wall, it's not even a comparison.
anonymous male, you're an idiot.
