The Brockley World Food Festival, July 17th

On July 17th, from 11am-3pm, Friendly Gardens will play host to the first Brockley World Food Festival.

Supported by Lewisham Council, local Assembly co-ordinator Nancy Stridgen is searching for local groups interested in taking a stall at the event,

They are also asking groups if they or they know anyone that would want to participate in bringing food for people to share at the event. There is a budget from the event to pay people for their contribution (though not catering prices as the ethos is the sharing and getting to try lots of different types of food).

They are currently looking for the following contributions:

Bangladeshi
Eastern European
English

Contact Nancy Stridgen at Lewisham Council on 0208 314 9608 if you'd like to be involved.

How exactly is this supposed to work? Are people signing a disclaimer in case they choke?

Have you not learned how to feed yourself yet Cartman? Perhaps they could blend everything into mush for you and provide a bib.

Great idea. I think that's stretching the Brockley boundaries a bit far though, Friendly St is more Deptford/St. Johns. We have to give the people of St. Johns something to celebrate. They've already lost a pedestrian crossing.

They haven't lost it yet! And it's a Brockley ward project.

What would they celebrate? Ambulances and Woods are already taken it seems.

Great idea, happens all the time in Australia. Cat Man hasn't progressed beyond fishfingers chips and peas so will be a good opertunity for him to try grown up food.

I'm going to try and convince the missus to do some of her Brasillian specialities! Cheer her up after yesterday. Monkeyboy - are you going to knock up some vegemite sarnies?

Christ no, not actually Australian. Just lived there for a year. They do a lot of al fresco food events.

Just as well mate. All local Aussies were invited to tuck into Brockley Kiwis shorts after their different world cup showings.
