A late prediction for 2008
A late addition to our predictions for 2008 [none of which are coming true in a hurry].
This Brockley Cross shop will never sell a single bagel.
It is perhaps the definitive limbo shop and it has already duped a few readers in to thinking they might actually be able to buy a bagel there soon. It's a beautiful dream.

That shop is on a good spot. I wonder who owns it. A Cafe Neu style place would do well there.
What about 'Eternal Jerk' on the West Side next to the new housing development ? I would like to try it out but it is never open !

Yep, me too Andy, the bagel place has completely passed me by!
i guess its an "east side" thing... the bagel place, or at least, the bagel sign, is just off the brockley x roundabout on geoffrey road. Next to a drycleaners and v near the florist and the new(ish) beautician. it was a kebab or chicken shop about three years ago; powerful whiffs of weed emanate any time workmen have been in evidence. its going nowhere quickly.

I spoke briefly to the lady who runs 'the shop on the hill' apparently the place next door to her is going to be a flower shop, has anyone heard anything about this?
Yes, I noticed this place - I was assuming I would be able to buy bagels there soon - shame!
Btw, a new African and Caribbean grocer cum greengrocers is opening in Crofton Park very soon - row of shops along from Mr Lawrence. I have a good feeling about it, - at last, something that isn't an Estate Agents.
